Can’t believe I haven’t shared this very important winter survival lesson that I learned! So the story starts when my husband and I had first started dating. He took me on a hike through the woods behind his house. It was 19 degrees and we bundled up and went exploring. He has this magical way of always timing a perfect surprise viewing of the sunset. This hike was no different. We could see the Smokey Mountains and the Cumberlands. We took this first selfie together. Anyway, it was cold and even when you are bundled up, you still turn cold. As we came back in his house he took off his hat and gloves and scarf and shoes and socks. When he encouraged me to do the same I said, “no I’m freezing and I want to warm up first.” The he told me that I had to “let the cold out.” You see, the same insulation that keeps the cold from coming in to your body also keeps it from coming out once you get cold. It keeps the warm from coming in. So, when you get inside, take off everything you can and let the cold out! It really works too! Trust me!
